Get in touch with nature : secluded rustic cabin, sleeps 4 set on the estuary of Matapouri (note beach photo not taken from property) on a small coastal farm, a short walk to Matapouri Bay and its white sands. This cabin has one main room containing a kitchenette with a double gas hob, gas fridge, gas BBQ, gas shower and flush toilet including queen sized bed with two single mattress' on an open mezzanine floor. Lights are solar powered. Beaches in close vicinity include Matapouri Bay, Whale Bay, Wooleys Bay, and Sandy Bay (a surfer's paradise). 5 kms over the hill to Tutukaka which is the game fishing and diving mecca of the area. The world-renowned Poor Knight Islands are 12 nautical miles northeast and numerous charter boats are available to take you there including a high-speed jet boat ride out to the largest Sea Cave in the world! Snapper Rock Café, Marina Pizzeria, Deep Sea Anglers Bistro and Bar and Oceans Resort are very popular spots. Tui & Waikato sunken wrecks also attract divers worldwide. Ngunguru is 3kms from Tutukaka. The Ngunguru sports complex also has an excellent restaurant and many activities like golf, bowls, tennis, badminton and petanque. Craving nightlife or just plain shopping - Whangarei is but 35 minutes away.
